Volkswagen is no stranger to special edition Golf Rs as we’ve seen multiple versions over the past few years. The Golf R 20th Anniversary Edition arrived in 2022, while the Golf R 333<\/a> followed in 2023.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tvar adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:[]}; It appears another special edition is in the works as spy photographers snapped a hardcore prototype undergoing testing on the Nürburgring<\/a>. Between this and the vents, it looks like Volkswagen<\/a> is putting a lot of emphasis on cooling.<\/p>\n The rest of the car appears pretty familiar as there are lightweight wheels backed up by a high-performance braking system with R-branded calipers. We can also see a four-tailpipe exhaust system and a black rear spoiler.<\/p>\n
