The rear glass appears to be slightly more inclined than the fortwo, but the shape is instantly recognizable. It&rsquo;s a direct nod to the car that first appeared in 1998, went through redesigns in 2006 and 2014, and eventually bowed out in 2024.<\/p>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article-thumbnails-organic\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>New Platform, Electric Drive<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While Smart was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/2024\/04\/smart-needs-help-to-make-new-fortwo-ev\/\">looking for a potential collaboration<\/a> to develop the underpinnings, they finally managed to successfully pass the feasibility check with their own platform.
