That&rsquo;s the situation that a 26-year-old North Vancouver man now finds himself in. BC Highway Patrol says it caught him doing 130 kmh (80 mph) in an 80 kmh (49 mph) zone. Around 1:15 p.m., officers spotted the driver in a grey <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/lamborghini-gallardo\/\">Lamborghini Gallardo<\/a>. Speeding at 40 kmh or more above the posted speed limit results in an automatic impound in British Columbia. The driver&rsquo;s excuses didn&rsquo;t slow down that swift justice either.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Track Day Turned Tow Day<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The driver said he was on his way to a racetrack. Had he driven more responsibly, he could have had a great day at the track. Instead, he had an awkward conversation with mom,&rdquo; said Cpl. In addition to the seven-day seizure, the driver was slapped with a $368 excessive speed fine, a $109 ticket for not running a front plate, towing and storage costs, and three years of pricey &ldquo;high-risk driver&rdquo; insurance premiums. <\/p>\n<p><strong>A Costly Misstep<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That pushes the total bill well north of $2,500 CAD, and that&rsquo;s before calculating the cost of mom&rsquo;s wrath.
